Squash & Racketball

Squash

Our facilities for squash and racketball are provided to the highest standard. Our 6 courts are traditional brick/plaster walled courts and they are regularly and well maintained. Two are glass back courts and the floors are properly sprung to aid movement and reduce joint strain. All courts are well lit with heating, ventilation and viewing galleries.   We are proud to have recently hosted prestigious tournaments including one of the country’s largest open doubles event and an England Squash Masters event.

We will help you find opponents to play with our social nights, ladders and leagues. Social nights are suitable for all standards and are held on Monday 5.00pm -7.30pm for squash and Wednesday 5.00-7.30pm for racketball; just come down and play whoever is available. For racketball all equipment is available to borrow along with guidance on the rules and how to play, provided by our qualified Racketball coaches. Our club is home to around 150 playing members and we have a strong monthly league program and will assess your level to start you off in the appropriate league – even if you are a beginner we have a league of the appropriate level for you.  The ladder is relatively new but we hope it is as sucessful as the leagues. We run age and gender specific competitions annually.

The Club boasts more than 5 squash and racketball teams playing in the Nottingham and Lincolnshire leagues and is well represented in the Lincolnshire mixed team events. After your game, relax in the bar and watch some high quality and competitive team matches.

Racketball (Squash 57)

Racketball (Squash 57) is firmly established and growing rapidly and very popular with members at GSFC.

An easier game to learn than squash and is a highly entertaining way of keeping fit with family and friends.  Schools finding it a great introduction to racket sport which their pupils enjoy.

Racketball differs from squash in that the ball is much larger and the rackets have bigger heads but shorter handles.

Racketball is a great way to keep fit and active while improving your hand-eye coordination. Every Wednesday evening 5.00pm- 7.30pm is our Racketball social evening. Whether you are currently playing Racketball or you are looking to start, then this session is for you before playing leagues which run throughout the year. All equipment is available to borrow along with guidance on the rules and how to play, provided by our qualified Racketball coaches.
